As in 2017, iService will again be responsible for the website design, corporate design, printing units, project management, support and technical implementation, including the submission system, in 2019.

Die Brennnessel – The nettle

Blühendes Österreich – the largest private sector sustainability initiative for nature and biodiversity conservation in Austria – created a new nature conservation prize in 2017: „Die Brennnessel – Naturschutz is ka gmahde Wies´n“ that would be translated as “the nettle – conservation is not a mown meadow”.

With this nature conservation prize, more attention should be paid to the often unrecognized commitment of the Austrian municipalities and their local initiatives for nature and biodiversity conservation and their commitment should be acknowledged. Blühendes Österreich will also provide € 200,000 in 2019 for projects by municipalities, NPOs and private individuals as well as schools and preschools.

Originally “Die Brennnessel” was endowed with 100,000 euros, but was unexpectedly increased due to the quality and number of submissions to 200,000 euros. In 2017, 28 nature conservation projects were awarded.
