Every year, thousands of landmarks, company locations, schools, public institutions, organisations and households around the world go dark for 60 minutes and set an example with Earth Hour – this “one hour for the world”.

For us as an agency, Earth Hour is a personal concern and we ourselves are actively on board in several ways.

Already in its infancy 12 years ago, we presented the idea of an interactive map of Austria to WWF Austria and also realised it, in which communities and places of interest as well as individual private persons can register to participate. Each participant can reliably tag his or her place – even if it has the same name – and thus becomes an obvious part of this simple idea, which has developed into one of the world’s largest climate protection campaigns in the last decade.

In accordance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation, the individual entries in the map are not displayed with the specific addresses. Instead, we have built a geographical system that is supported by an intelligent form. All contributors are thus shown distributed in a circle at a relevant location. Only by clicking on the numerical circle do the symbolic candles for the respective individual entries appear.
